Important Re: Rev. Beckmann's future work for the Society

The following is from the introduction to my Patreon page, which I invite you to visit.

Greetings, gentle reader.  Thank you for visiting my (rudimentary) Patreon page. I have set this up because I need encouragement about my work related to C. S. Lewis.

As you may know, I initiated a C. S. Lewis Society for Chattanooga in 2005 as a part of my ministry as a priest in a church.  When I moved on from that position, I kept up the Society - holding events, leading studies, posting things online, etc. - because people kept telling me how much they appreciated what I was doing.  You can look back at our history in this respect by looking through the website of the C. S. Lewis Society of Chattanooga (click link).

Then came the year that my wife and I lived in and took care of C. S. Lewis' house, The Kilns, in Oxford, England.  We kept a blog of our work here (click link).  One of our faithful members kept up the local Society while I was away.

Upon my return from Oxford, I began holding "C. S. Lewis Summers @ The Meeting House" - monthly lectures in the local area, which have been well-attended.  From the summer of 2017 to the summer of 2018, I also was the full-time Rector of The Anglican Church of the Redeemer, here in Chattanooga.

With this year's Summers @ the Meeting House and my interim-ship having concluded, I'm at something of a crossroads.  Do I keep up the C. S. Lewis Society and my work related to C. S. Lewis and the Inklings?  There is so much that I'd like to do and everyone wants me to do it: monthly meetings, conferences, a book, more video and online courses; plus I have the opportunity to help augment other ministries in the area with Lewis-related events and studies - there's really no end to it.

The problem is that I cannot afford financially to keep doing such things as a hobby.  Back when I was employed by a church or a school, that was fine.  Things are different now.  I cannot keep up the work unless I can also have some financial backing to do so.

That's why I have set up this Patreon page.  If you would like to see me keep up and even expand my ministry in this arena, would you consider aiding me financially to do so?  My thought is that, if I get enough supporters, I can treat this as something of a part-time employment and give it the time and attention it calls for.  It depends on whether the financial goal can be reached or not.
